### Local Storage
- **Your data stays on your device.** Reflections, craving logs, photos, and WHY statements are stored locally on your phone.
- We do **not** automatically collect or store your personal data on our servers.
- Your data is **not** backed up to the cloud.
### Permissions We Request
- **Camera:** To photograph craving triggers and motivational images (optional - only when you choose to use camera)
- **Photo Library:** To select images from your photos (optional - only when you choose to access photos)
### Data We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ No personal identification (name, email, phone number)
- ❌ No location data
- ❌ No contacts
- ❌ No browsing history
- ❌ No persistent usage analytics

## Third-Party Services We Use
### OpenAI API (WHY Generation Feature)
When you use the AI-powered "Generate WHY" feature:
**What We Send to OpenAI:**
- Your answers to the WHY questionnaire (text you type)
- General context about craving management
**What We Don't Send:**
- ❌ Your photos
- ❌ Your name or personal identification
- ❌ Your craving logs or reflections
- ❌ Any data from other parts of the app
**How OpenAI Handles This:**
- Used to generate personalized WHY suggestions
- Not stored long-term by us
- Subject to OpenAI's privacy policy: https://openai.com/privacy
- We do not train models on your data
**Your Control:**
- This feature is optional
- Only activated when you choose to use it
- You can choose not to use AI-generated suggestions
### Beta Testing Platforms
- **Apple TestFlight / Google Play Console:** Standard crash reports and usage metrics during beta testing
- Managed by Apple/Google according to their privacy policies

## Data You Control
### Delete Your Data
**iOS:**
- Settings → General → iPhone Storage → CraveMastery → Delete App
- All local data is permanently deleted
**Android:**
- Settings → Apps → CraveMastery → Storage → Clear Data
- Then uninstall the app
- All local data is permanently deleted
### Features in Development
The app currently has interface elements for:
- **Data Export:** Coming in future update
- **Research Participation:** Coming in future update (will require separate consent)
Until these features are fully implemented, they are non-functional.

**On Your Device:**
- Your device's built-in security protects your data
- Use device password, PIN, or biometric lock
- We recommend enabling device encryption

- No server storage = no server breaches
